I. Biography

Conrad Aiken was born in Savannah Georgia. When Aiken was a child his father killed his mother and then killed himself. Aiken then moved to Massachusetts to live with his aunt. After he moved out of his aunt's house he went to England. He was a tutor in English at Harvard. Aiken then moved back to America settling in Boston. He was married three times. He had one daughter by his first wife, Jessie McDonald. She later became famous for her writing.

Conrad Aiken was a poet and a novelist. He wrote many poems and short stories during his life. Aiken has won many awards such as the Pulitzer Prize, National Book award, and the Bollinger Prize in 1956. These were just some of the many awards Conrad Aiken received for his poems, novels, and short stories. His first novel was Blue Voyage. He also wrote Great Circle and King Coffin. Aiken wrote many novels.
