I. Personal Biography

Born in Wyoming in 1945, Edward was a country boy since birth.  He lived on a ranch most of his youth.  He was depressed when he was told that his family was going to move to a city. He received his MA from the University of Wyoming in 1968 (Kinney). 

II. Professional Biography

He is a short story writer but has written novels.  He has won the Nebula award and several other prestigious science fiction awards.  He is known for his openness in his works. He has an ability to draw the reader into the scene, and keep him addicted to the action.  He is an editor/writer.  He has edited and participated in many books.  He has never written a novel solo (Kinney).

III. Influences

Some of his influences include: Dan Simmons, Lucy Taylor, John Stith, Connie Willis, and many others that were on the front range of Colorado (Kinney).

IV. Literary Works

He has written such works as Phoenix without Ashes: A Novel of the Starlost, Particle Theory, Wyoming Sun and even the screenplay The Synar Calculation  ("Bryant, Edward [Winslow, Jr.]").
