I. Biography Scott McMillion is an amazing Montana author. He has only written one book in his lifetime, yet it is cleverly written. Mark of the Grizzly
will terrify any one who dares to read it. One minute you could be hiking through the great outdoors having a great time and the next you could be being torn apart by a ferocious beast four times your
size. McMillion really knows how to draw a reader in so that you almost feel like you are the character in the story. He used gruesome details in Mark of the Grizzly to describe
what had happened to the victims of the attacks. There is one in particular story of a man who was killed when the bear attacked him. After
the bear was shot by park rangers, the rangers found out that prior to being shot, the bear had been feeding on the body for at least three days and there was not much left of it.
McMillion described it as being small bits of the man scattered around the hillside and parts of him buried in little mounds. He mentioned that the lower body was almost
untouched and still clothed while there was almost nothing left of the upper part. His writing may sound gory, but it is the sad truth and people need to know about these
things. That is just another reason why he is such a good writer; he expresses helpful information in a way that people won't get bored.
Scott McMillion was born on November 22, 1956, in the large city of Chicago, Illinois. Chicago, however, is only one of the many places that he has lived. He has also lived in
places as diverse as Seoul, Korea, and has traveled all around the world. He's seen everything and could have lived anywhere out of the places he visited around the world,
but he chose to live in Livingston, Montana. He loves Montana for a few different reasons. For one, it has a lot of open, beautiful country and there are very few people who
live there. Montana is one of the few places like that. Another reason is that he thinks it is just the best place for him, his wife, and his daughter to be living right now.
McMillion enjoys reading stories by Jim Harrison and Cormack McCarthy. He also reads books by Peter Dexter. A lot of times he has to read technical writings that he may not
enjoy as much. For instance, his information for Mark of the Grizzly came from a lot of research. He discovered it in government files, newspaper clips and talked to bear
researchers. He even talked to some of the victims of the attacks personally. He now writes articles and is a reporter for the Bozeman Chronicle where he has to read technical
articles for his stories. There is one thing that really inspires McMillion to write. That is the natural world and the way people manage it. Scott McMillion is an excellent author. II. Sources
