I. Biography Andrew Seddon was born in 1959 in Leicester, England. During his life, he has lived up and down the East Coast, in New York, Maryland and West Virginia. Since that time, Andrew moved to Billings, Montana where he currently lives, and is a medical doctor at the Billings Clinic. II. Literary Works Seddon has published a few books, and has a variety of writings. Seddon's style of writing is non-fiction, fiction, and science fiction. The non-fiction books that Seddon has written are mainly related to medical, travel, and magazine articles. Seddon also has written a few short stories that are fiction. Seddon's two current fiction books that are out are Red Planet Rising, and Imperial Legions. III. Inspiration from Beartooth Mountains "I've enjoyed writing since college," Seddon said. "I was one of those strange students in high school and college who preferred essay questions to multiple choice." That's not where Seddon's true inspiration was started. It all happened on a day that would change his life. Seddon took a trip to the Beartooth Mountains. With his dog by his side, he began to hike, taking in the beauty all around him. When he paused for a break, he pulled out a book and began to read. As time passed, he realized he didn't like the book he was reading. He thought, " I can write better books than this." That was the beginning of the rest of his life. In 1991, he started writing. In 1994, he wrote Red Planet Rising, and just a year later it was published. IV. Characters Seddon enjoys his writing. Seddon says it takes him out of his life, and himself, allowing him to be a different person, in a different place. Seddon enjoys the sense of creating new characters, letting his mind take control, the inner creative man taking over. A new character is brought out through each of his writings, the character Andrew Seddon. Many of Seddon's characters came from scratch, such as his character in his book Imperial Legions. Seddon also applies his characteristics to his characters. In the book Red Planet Rising the character came from himself. Yet, Seddon has a way of capturing his readers, putting just the right intensity level to a story. Iron Septor, one of Seddon's exciting books, has the main character portrayed as a bad guy, developing gradually to fit the story. Seddon's books are exciting, thrilling, and intriguing. Behind all the action though, is value. Seddon looks for the good in people. He presents his characters with conflicts, having them sacrifice many things. In Imperial Legions, the hero and heroine sacrifice because of their love for each other. Seddon brings a different twist to his books, a deeper meaning. V. Seddon Inspired by Parents Behind the closed doors, behind the hard work, behind the scenes, there is always a nurturing light. Parents are the root of many creations, if they choose to be. Seddon's parents are supportive, helping him, bringing him along, giving him ideas. Many nights, Seddon would call his parents, searching in his dad help to brainstorm. Seddon is a wonderful author who has written many great things, but in the shadows of Andrew Seddon, there lies a greater light, his parents. VI. Lists Of Works Red Planet Rising VII.
